JEVPALOVS SCORES HIGHLIGHT REEL GOAL IN DRAMATIC OVERTIME VICTORY TO END SEASON

BINGHAMTON (April 13, 2019) – The Laval Rocket brought their 2018-19 season to a close on the road against the Binghamton Devils at Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday night, where Nikita Jevpalovs netted the game tying goal in the final minute of play as well as the game-winner in overtime three minutes into the extra frame to give the Rocket a 4-3 victory. Michael McNiven made 26 saves in the Rocket’s win while defenseman Josh Brook picked up his first professional point on Laval’s second goal.

STRUTHERS GETS FIRST PRO GOAL IN 5-1 LOSS TO SYRACUSE

SYRACUSE (April 12, 2019) – The Laval Rocket played their second to last game of the season against the Syracuse Crunch at Onondaga County War Memorial Arena on Friday night, where the Crunch proved why they are one of the teams atop the league and defeated the Rocket by a score of 5-1.

BRIDGEPORT SOUND TIGERS DEFEAT ROCKET 2-1

BRIDGEPORT (April 10, 2019) – The Laval Rocket will close out their 2018-2019 season with a three-game road trip this week, and the first of these games was played against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Wednesday night at the Webster Bank Arena. Though the Rocket controlled much of the game and limited their opponents to just 20 shots on goal, the Sound Tigers eventually took hold of and held on for a 2-1 victory.

ROCKET SCORE FOUR GOALS IN THE THIRD PERIOD TO DEFEAT HERSHEY 5-2 IN FRONT OF 8 643 FANS

LAVAL (April 6, 2019) – With a crowd of 8,643 fans cheering them on during the Fan Appreciation game at Place Bell on Saturday afternoon, the Laval Rocket convincingly took down the sixth place overall Hershey Bears by a score of 5-2 with four of those goals coming in the third period. Nine different Rocket players picked up at least a point in the game, while goaltender Connor LaCouvee made 27 saves in the victory.

CLEVELAND DEFEATS LAVAL 3-2 WITH LATE THIRD PERIOD GOAL

LAVAL (April 5, 2019) – The Laval Rocket and the Cleveland Monsters went face-to-face for the second time this week at Place Bell on Friday night and though the Rocket fought until the final buzzer, the Monsters claimed the victory due to a late third period goal that lifted them over the Rocket 3-2.

LAVAL (April 3, 2019) – The Laval Rocket opened their final week of home games of the 2018-2019 season with a game against the Cleveland Monsters at Place Bell on Wednesday night, where Joël Bouchard and his troops composed of just 11 forwards fell to their opponents by a score of 5-0.

ALEX BELZILE NAMED LAVAL ROCKET’S 2018-19 IOA/AMERICAN SPECIALTY AHL MAN OF THE YEAR

LAVAL (April 3, 2019) – The Laval Rocket is proud to announce that Alex Belzile has been named the team’s recipient of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year Award, and is therefore the club’s nominee for the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, which honours a player’s outstanding contributions to their community during the 2018-19 season.

TAKING CARE OF OUR PEOPLE, THANKS TO HOCKEY

LAVAL (April 2, 2019) – It is well known that sport can cure many ailments. The Laval Rocket’s community and social engagement has demonstrated as much. Members of the team took a break from hockey this afternoon to pay a visit to patients and staff at the Centre intégré de cancérologie (CICL) at the Cité-de-la-Santé Hospital. Head coach Joël Bouchard was accompanied by Rocket vice president of development & operations, Mark Weightman, as well as forward and Quebec-City native Alexandre Alain and team mascot Cosmo.

THE ROCKET THIS WEEK…

The Rocket are set to drop the puck on the final three home games of the regular season this week, starting with a Wednesday night tilt versus the Cleveland Monsters on April 3 (7:30 p.m./91.9 Sports). Laval then plays back-to-back games over the weekend, starting with a second battle against the Monsters on Friday, April 5 (7:30 p.m./RDS, 91.9 Sports/TSN 690), followed by a Saturday afternoon matchup against the Hershey Bears on April 6 (3 p.m./91.9 Sports).

BELZILE SCORES TWICE IN 4-2 LOSS TO ROCHESTER AMERICANS

ROCHESTER (March 29, 2019) – The Laval Rocket were at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester on Friday night to open their weekend road trip by taking on the fourth place overall Rochester Americans, and though Michael McNiven shined with 31 saves and kept his team in the game, the Rocket were unable to beat their divisional rival. Alex Belzile scored both goals for the Rocket in their 4-2 loss.

DEFENSEMAN JOSH BROOK TO JOIN THE LAVAL ROCKET

LAVAL (March 29, 2019) – The Laval Rocket announced today that defenseman Josh Brook will join the team on Saturday in Toronto for their game against the Marlies. Brook’s WHL season with the Moose Jaw Warriors ended on Wednesday.

LACOUVEE MAKES 35 SAVES IN 2-1 SHOOTOUT LOSS TO COMETS

UTICA (March 22, 2019) – Connor LaCouvee led the Laval Rocket to a point during their 2-1 shootout loss to the Utica Comets at the Adirondack Bank Center on Friday night, as the Laval netminder turned away 35 of the 36 shots he faced against their divisional rival. Though the many penalties against them broke the Rocket’s momentum, the penalty killers also contributed to the point as they kept the Comets’ powerplay off the board during their six powerplay opportunities.

LAVAL (March 20, 2019) – The Laval Rocket proved once again on Wednesday night that they are a team who never gives up, as they came back from behind twice to defeat the Providence Bruins 3-2 in an eight-round shootout at Place Bell. Daniel Audette and Cale Fleury netted the two regulation goals for the Rocket in the game, while Audette, Michael Pezzetta, and Hunter Shinkaruk netted the shootout goals.

BELLEVILLE (March 15, 2019) – The Laval Rocket played the first of two very important back-to-back games against the divisional rival Belleville Senators on Friday night at the CAA Arena, where the Rocket defeated the Senators by a score of 3-2 in a shootout. The Rocket powerplay was two-for-four in the win, and their penalty kill was perfect.

Xavier Ouellet and Lukas Vejdemo picked up the two goals for the Rocket in the loss, while Jake Evans and Alex Belzile picked up the assists.

SPRINGFIELD (March 23 2019) – The Rocket visited the Springfield Thunderbirds for their second game of the weekend and Joël Bouchard’s troops, with 12 rookies in the lineup, demonstrated their maturity and character once again by coming back from a two-goal deficit to defeat their opponents 3-2 in overtime. Rocket captain Xavier Ouellet was the one to net the game-winner in the extra frame.

On October 6, 2017, history was made.

The atmosphere at Place Bell in Laval was vibrant that night, and the air was buzzing with excitement. The Montreal Canadiens’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Laval Rocket, played their inaugural game against the Belleville Senators that evening, with a sellout crowd of 10,000 cheering them on.

A SURPRISE FOR THE ENTRAIDE PONT-VIAU ET LAVAL-DES-RAPIDES COMMUNITY CENTRE

LAVAL (December 22, 2017) – In the spirit of the holidays, the players of the Laval Rocket surprised some less fortunate families at the Entraide Pont-Viau et Laval-Des-Rapides community centre Thursday afternoon. Accompanied by the team mascot Cosmo, over 10 Rocket players took advantage of the opportunity to talk to the families, pose for memorable photos and distribute gifts to the children and their parents just a few days ahead of Christmas.

THE ROCKET CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS WITH A WEEK OF AID AND GENEROSITY

Laval (December 10, 2017) – The holidays are a time to rejoice and celebrate, but it also represents the perfect time to give back to those less fortunate. The Rocket took advantage of the occasion to hold the Food Drive game, in collaboration with the Centre de bénévolat and Moisson Laval, to collect non-perishable goods to be given to Laval families in need. The generosity of the 5,037 fans in attendance for the December 6th game against the Binghamton Devils helped the team raise more than 1,250 kg of non-perishable goods.
