Lucas Condotta, the positive leader

Return in time.

March 31, 2022.

The Montreal Canadiens announce the signing of Lucas Condotta for the 2022-23 season. He will join the Rocket on a professional tryout contract to finish the 2021-22 season. He will play his first professional game with the Rocket on April 8th, a game that the Rocket will win in overtime.

The Ontario forward had just completed his college career at UMass-Lowell University in the Boston area. His impact there was definite. Captain in his last year, he is recognized as an undisputed leader, a quality quickly recognized in the Rocket locker room upon his arrival.

Soon, the playoffs arrived. Playoffs that were significant for the Rocket. Playoffs that were significant for Condotta. On May 23rd, against the Rochester Americans, he scored his first professional goal.

What a time to do it.

In his second season with the team, it is unanimous. He is a great teammate and his leadership shines through in all facets of his profession. His coaches recognize and appreciate that.

“He’s a good teammate. He’s also a very good person who is well respected in the locker room. He’s a leader and has a lot of enthusiasm. It’s contagious.”

Jean-François Houle

Only Rocket player to have played every game this season, he never misses an opportunity to make an impact in a game. With 57 regular season games (in two seasons) under his belt, he is still considered a rookie. It’s impressive that he’s the Rocket’s third goal scorer with 15 goals and that he got his first pro hat trick on January 28.

His attitude and positivism are exemplary. In addition to being appreciated by the coaching staff, he is adored by his teammates, as Nate Schnarr stated.

“ His attitude is just infectious. He is such a happy guy. He brings a positive attitude to every outlook of life. No matter any hour of the day, no matter the situation, he always has a smile on his face and always making the most of it. He also brings such a positive outlook on hockey.”

Lucas Condotta and the Rocket will return to action on Friday, February 24 against the Rochester Americans before heading to Toronto on the 25th to face the Marlies.
