Rocket win to force a Game 7
The Rocket came through in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals series and will meet the Thunderbirds again on Wednesday at MassMutual Center for a Game 7.
Danick Martel had a three-point night (2 goals, 1 assist) to contribute to the Rocket’s best offensive performance in the series against Springfield.
Laval had a quiet start to the game with only 5 shots in the first, but early in the second, Martel took an opportunity created by a miscommunication between Hofer and defenseman Cross to open the scoring. Primeau was brilliant afterwards to keep the Rocket lead throughout the game.
The Rocket were facing elimination for the first time in this series and the team put on a great performance on the road. The Rocket offense stepped on the gas in the third period and scored four goals to cruise to victory. The Thunderbirds were unable to get some momentum and the game ended 5-1 in favour of the Rocket.
