LAVAL (July 1st, 2018) – The Laval Rocket announced today that the team has agreed to terms on a two-year, one-way AHL contract (2018-20) with defenseman Maxim Lamarche.
Last season, Lamarche suited up for 50 regular season games for the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms, collecting seven points (2 goals, 5 assists). The defenseman also presented a +21 differential. Last season was the Laval native’s first full season in the AHL, since making his debut in 2013-14. He has recorded 28 career points (7 goals, 21 assists) in 124 games in the AHL.
The 25-year-old started his Junior career with the Victoriaville Tigers in 2009-10 before being dealt to the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, where he spent the next three seasons, helping his team reach the QJMHL’s finals in 2012-13. Over the course of his Junior career, Lamarche collected 113 points (23 goals, 90 assists) in 252 games.
The 6-foot-3, 217-pound defenseman also played in the ECHL, spending one season with the Elmira Jackals and three more with the Reading Royals. Lamarche amassed 64 points (18 goals, 46 assists) in 163 regular season games in the ECHL and added 4 goals and 10 assists in 21 playoff contests.
